Martin Grant...Ready to Wear

A little vintage and a whole lot of pretty! I am not familiar with Martin Grant, but I fell in love with him instantly when I saw the full skirted strapless gown...then the top to bottom slit front white buttoned gown...and on and on. There isn't a stitch I don't adore. These sing.

Oscar de la Renta....Spring 2009

This look is great for so many reasons. It resonates with femininity and elegance. The bold metallic floral patterned skirt, so signature Oscar de la Renta, is toned down with a soft pale gray sweater making it versatile...for day and night.

To me it is an update on a classic 50's silhouette and seems to reflect an air of innocence. Amidst Oscar de la Renta's glamorous gowns, this may be a recession motivated design.

I love it!!

Jean Paul Gaultier.....an amazing line of shoes this year

As winter turns into spring it is hugely welcome and easy to transition into bright hues and the designers feel pretty much the same. You will see lots of color this season with an emphasis on orange, purple, brown, green and blue.

At the same time, neutrals and soft metallics will hold their stance! You will find billowy gowns in champagne and dove gray and soft ivory......AND shoes too!!!

Two softly hued classically designed shoes updated with ribbons, detailing and studs. By Jean Paul Gaultier (like a good wine, he gets better with age).
